Fundación Tropicalia held its first cycle of motivational speeches as part of the program "Inclusion of Micro and Small Enterprises (SMEs) in the Sustainable Tourism Supply Chain in Miches" developed in collaboration with the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Bank Development (IDB / MIF).

Among the invited speakers were Marcos Díaz, a renowned Dominican athlete; Mercedes Canalda, Executive President of the ADOPEM Bank; and Edison Santos, Founder of Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Eco Mensajería.

The main objective of these speeches was to motivate the producers and entrepreneurs of Miches to empower themselves and become the protagonists of the changes the town is facing today. This initiative allowed personalities like Marcos Diaz to transmit insights on leadership with real stories of personal improvement.

"Success, reaching a goal, has absolutely nothing to do with the conditions in which one is born into. Success has to do with being clear about our goals, and, above all, facing a situation of obstacles, perseverance", Díaz emphasized during his speech.

The main objective of the program, which began in 2013, is to improve market access for producers and traders in the municipality of Miches, thus generating an inclusive business model linked to tourism and sustainable development.

The initiative has impacted more than 1,500 beneficiaries between 2014 and 2016, through training, diversification of local supply, and access to financing to strengthen micro and small enterprises. Also, it has resulted in the creation and consolidation of the Cooperative of Production, Work and Multiple Services of Miches.
